We took a long weekend and went to some of the terrific places to learn and play in the Fort Worth area. We loved staying at the Hyatt Place Hotel in the Historic Stockyards so we could watch the famous live cattle drive right in front of the hotel twice daily.
With a long overnight delay in the Dallas/Fort Worth Airport we discovered Grapevine, Texas, the terrific hidden jewel of a small town nearby.
Located right in the heart of Pier 39 on the Embarcadero at Beach Street, this pleasant little diversion was perfect for a couple of free hours in the city by the bay.
While Truckee, California is well known for hosting below freezing, single digit temperatures in the winter and often remembered for the ill fated pioneers who lost their lives there, it may not be first remembered for outstanding eateries, boutiques, and excellent day excursions, yet it certainly should be.
