About the Editor

Carmel-MooneyCarmel L. Mooney is a travel writer, columnist, author, and radio talk show host. More than two thousand of her bylines and photographs appear in national and international magazines and newspapers.

She teaches seminars on writing and publishing at writers’ conferences and colleges throughout the country.

When Carmel isn’t at her computer you’ll find her traveling about 25 times a year.

A certified Road Trip addict, Carmel has taken two fairly recent cross country (and back ) road trips with her kids. On the last one, they were gone over three months covering  a total of 11,600 miles. (and Carmel did all the driving)

Through her print columns, Carmel covers travel, dining, and entertainment at dude ranches, bed and breakfasts, resorts, festivals, theme parks, and on cruises. Carmel also co-hosts The Good Life, radio talk show, with Mike the Wine Guy, which airs weekly on KMYC 1410 AM. On this informative and entertaining show, Carmel covers travel destinations, dining reviews, entertainment, authors, celebrities, and more.

While Carmel writes frequently about destinations all over the world, she does write extensively about California as well. She is a fourth generation Californian. It’s no surprise that exploration runs deep in her veins as Daniel Boone was her great uncle, eight generations back. Carmel loves to annually visit and write about the regions of her genealogy in North Carolina, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Virginia.

Carmel appears occasionally on Sacramento & Co, News10 TV, as a travel expert.
